MUSIC SUPERVISOR SERVICES

Budgeting and cost management: Managing the budget allocated for music in a production. This involves working with the producers and other creative team members to determine the music needs for the production and finding cost-effective solutions to meet those needs.

Selecting and licensing music: Selecting and licensing appropriate music for a particular production. This involves researching and negotiating with music publishers, record labels, and individual artists to secure the rights to use their music in the production.

Scoring: Recommend and organize meetings between filmmakers and composers. Hire composers. Work with the composer to create original music and songs or scores for a production. Involvement collaborating with the director, producer, and other creative team members to ensure that the music fits the tone and style of the production.

On-camera music: ​Work with the director, producer, and other creative team members to determine the music needs for the production. This may involve selecting and licensing the music for on-camera performances, such as songs, choir, or instrumental pieces that a character performs or sings.

 

Providing guidance to actors and musicians: Work with actors and musicians to ensure that their performances are authentic and fit the production style. This may involve coaching the actors on how to play an instrument or sing a song or providing guidance to the musicians on the tone and style of the music.

 

Pre-records: Work with actors or musicians before/during production to record music or vocals with an executive music producer or music producers.

 

Obtain the necessary permissions before shooting: Clearances of the music used in the production. This includes securing the rights to use copyrighted material and obtaining any necessary licenses or releases.

 

Work with the editor and sound designer: Ensuring that the on-camera music is appropriately timed and placed in the scene. This involves coordinating with the other production members (sound package team and playback operators).

Music clearance: Ensure that all the necessary permissions and clearances are obtained for the music used in a production. This includes securing rights for the use of copyrighted material and obtaining any necessary licenses or releases.

Soundtrack production: Production of a film or television show/series soundtrack album. This involves selecting the songs and overseeing the recording and production of the album delivery.
